looks to be a Sphynx (sp?) Moth.

Thata's what I was thinking but it dodn't have the rolled up snout. Maybe a youngster?

Hmmm. I had one yesterday hanging on my screen thing at the back slider--never thought to take a photo! Never crossed my mind. That must mean there's company coming today. But the dog had fun with it for a long time. She didn't harm it, just barked and jumped around trying to get it to play. I suppose she figured it was finally something her size. Glad you had your head about you--they are neat to see.

After a quick search, I found a pic of a white-lined Sphinx moth that looks near identical to the photo above.
