walleyeslammer
When ice fishing with spoons or jigging rapalas do you tie them on or do you use some type of a snap? What do you use for snaps if you use them?
NAMASafetyDirector
Depends on the style of jig, for just a straight verticle jig I like to tie right to the jig, however if I am using a jig with some action to it for eg., a chubby darter, jiggin'rap, jiggin'shad rap, I like to tie on a small ball swivel up about 6-8" above the lure. Otherwise I have found you end up with a ton of line twist after a while from the action of the lure.
dan z
I use those really tiny snaps ones that spro makes they work pretty good
PerchJerker
I tie direct. I've tried snaps in the past but have never liked the action with them unless they're really small .... and at that point it's usually quicker and easier to retie than to mess with small snaps with cold fingers. Deitz Dittrich
I too tie direct. Most of my spoons have an 'O' ring. A snap and an 'O' ring would be over kill. With many panfish jigs and such the way the knot is on the jig makes all the difference in the world.
