jakemcarroll
I'm going out this weekend for my first pheasant hunt with my father in law. I am pretty prepared with the proper clothing for warm weather or cold weather, but I don't know what to wear since it will be raining and warm. I looked around a little last night at Gander for a light waterproof pullover and didn't see much. Anyone have a suggestion for a waterproof outer layer?? Thanks! bigsandynorth1
Pheasant hunting...just wear any rain jacket that will not tear easily then put a orange vest over that. Good Luck
BLACKJACK
Also have dry clothes with, it could be a wet, cold rain and you'll be soaked to your nuts, dry clothes will warm you up quicker than any truck heater. Been there done that.
BoxMN
Great advice Blackjack!!! I even keep clean dry socks and underwear in my duck bag, in ziplock... never know when you will need some clean undies, after a flock of bills buzzes you I would say for sure an underamour or similar mock tee, to keep the moisture away from you, as you will sweat and have water come in aroudn your neck. If money is no object, go to the waterfowl section and get a single layer waterproof, like a Drake shirt, and then just wear a the orange vest over it, like up north said. Or just get a Gander Guide Series rain coat for about $60, that will work great, as it breathes. That is what I will be wearing this weekend ducking it when the rain is heavier, with a Drake Pullover under it, and Gander "Silk Weight" mock tee under that, and my waders. Good luck and have a great hunt!
