Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

You know what we all love...

When you enchant people, you fill them with delight and yourself in return. Have Fun!!!

x65c setting for ice fishing

Recommended Posts

I have a Lowrance x65c ice machine that I have as a back up for people that fish with me. tried playing around with it for a little bit and was not very happy with it. had a hard time getting the jig to show up. tried it in flasher and graph mode.

any recomendations on how people set up their unit would be appriciated.

I have an x67c that I bought used this fall so my daughter would have one when she went with me. I've only messed with it a few times, but it worked well for picking up my jig once I got it dialed in.

I have even used it in my Fishtrap Pro a couple of times while also using my FL18, just to see how they would work together, and it was no problem as far as interference.

It does save the settings that you use, I'll try to remember to turn it on tonight and see how it's set up, that should at least give you a good starting point.

I will say that I do like that unit, and like the graph mode with the split zoom better than the flasher mode, although that will be whatever you like the best.

It seems a little more complex than the Vex, but once you learn your way around the menus it's pretty easy.

Ok,sorry if this gets a little long, but here's what I know. You can set it all up before you even go out and it will keep it's settings. The menus are a little different depending upon which mode (flasher, graph)that you go into them from, I started in the graph mode.

Hit menu, then sensitivity and set that to 85%. Depth range will get set to whatever condition you are fishing in. My chart speed is set to 100%. Mode is ice machine. Hit sonar features and you'll get these options: Surface Clarity, I'm at medium. Noise Rejection, I'm on high. Chart Mode, I'm on ice view. Leave the Fish ID boxes unchecked.

Go to Ping Speed, I'm at 75% (I think if you go higher here, you might be able to turn your sensitivity down, not sure though, something I'm going to try next time)

I've been using the split screen graph mode, with zoom set to 4x. If you're in say 30FOW and your depth range is set to 40', you see the entire water column on the right, but just 10' on the left (it's 4x zoom, that's why 10', you'd see 20' with 2x zoom) that math carries through for all depth ranges. You can slide that 10' window up and down by using the arrow buttons, which is great for best viewing suspended fish, and the right half of the screen will still show the entire depth.

If you go into the menu from the flasher mode, you'll also see some flasher options, you can use regular or split screen zoom, which is like what my FL18 has. I leave the color setting there on ice mode.

I hope this helps, as I said, this is what works for me, and I really like this unit. Play around with it and it should do well for you, too. I've been switching between this and my Vex this year because this is a new (to me) toy.

Thank you, that must have taken you a lot of time to go through. happy fishing.

You're welcome, it actually took me longer to type than it did to check the settings. Do me a favor, post back on here how it worked for you, and what you do for fine tuning.

I have one of these as well, and I always run my ping at 100%. Just a suggestion. My thought is the more times it shoots its signal down the better.

just a thought, but everything else matches how I have mine set up.

I use one too. In the graph mode you can monkey with the settings and have it leave the sensitivity adjustment on the left hand side off the screen, which then allows you to use your up and down arrows to adjust it on the fly vs.going back into the menus and messing around. I run my ping speed up all the way too. Ice mode all the time too. I have to "relearn" the menus every year too. But after a few times out I'm good to go.

    • Doesn't get any better than that. Pic says it all. Congrats
    • Well not the most attractive option but when the kids are out playing in the sprinkler you could get a roll of nonslip pool matting to roll out then put in the garage during the fall-winter?
    •   OK, then how about stripping the sealer if that is what makes it slippery.   After a few years it really isn't necessary, since the concrete is mostly cured by then (yeah it keeps curing for decades but most of it is done in a year or two).     I guess if you like the glossy look then maybe the sand in the sealer thing is worth a try.
    • Season ended just like I thought it would and happy Leipold held true to his word and moved on from Fletcher...he did some good things but overall did a poor job building a team that can compete at a high level unfortunately.  It will be interesting to see how the new GM handles this situation...getting rid of under-performers will not be easy and what in return? Going to be one of those down before heading back up deals. Coyle will be the first to go IMO, Granny can go as far as I'm concerned...gotta sign Zucker even though he was terrible in the playoffs, Nino is a question mark, Staal might need to go with the up year he had but long in the tooth and now would be the only time to get anything for him, Ennis (terrible player) will be bought out, Foligno (terrible) probably not tradeable with his contract...enjoy the ride Wild fans!
    • We packed four of us in the blind and had a blast!  Just about ready to give up and gave "one last call" only to have the birds blow up not 30 yards away from us.  One of the gobblers rubbed against the blind for two feet as he walked into the deeks- pretty dang cool!  Ryan made a perfect shot and dropped the bird in his tracks.
    • Ryan.pdf The pdf shows up as a link for me.  Is that ok Borch?
    • Twins are 33-91 against the Yankees since 2002! Its unbelievable how awful they play against them.    Stanton absolutely murdered that hanging curveball for a HR last night.
    • I was looking for reviews last night but only found a handful and they didn't really give me that much info. They seemed to be overall positive reviews but all were written after recently applying it so no info on longevity.
    • Stamped concrete looks great, but not very functional and it requires maintenance too, like every couple of years or so.   ....and how do you get the non-peeled, non-flaked area cleaned?
