10,000 Casts Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I was trying to think of the exact figure of what a 45" muskie costs and I have heard varying reports. But I know that it is higher than we all think. If you take all the fingerlings that don't make it, the time that is involved done by saleried individuals and what it costs to protect the species ect, the cost is very high per fish. But if we calculate it the simple way and we get the cost per fingerling and how many make it to 45" it is still very high. Thats why groups like Muskies Inc are soooo important. Even given the high cost, the species has generated much much more revenue for the state than was ever invested.I know this post is about eating a Muskie that isn't going to make it but their were a few posts that rubbed me the wrong way...
