Brade4
There weren't any electrics on the site. So with a motor head, battery, and 8'' drill bit or whatever you want to call it- what will that cost?
vook
The complete unit w/out the cordless (which you may already own) would cost you 287.50. Like I said I use a 36v and no complaints on performance at all. I think there is a section on electric on there which you would find it though. hovermn
I have a strikemaster Lazer mag and love it! Everyone that's used it has been impressed with how fast it cuts, the 1 pull start and it's weight. If all I did was fish out of a portable, I'd have no need for any other auger. However, once the ice is thick enough, I move into my winter cabin, ie: drop down fish house! 2 things I don't like about the gas auger. 1) probably the most obvious: Fumes. Open up all windows and door and wait until they air out. Opening the windows brings me to problem 2) heat loss. I'm looking forward to being able to preheat the house, drill the holes, and set down. When it's -20 with winds blowing at 40, it gets cold FAST! No more opening windows, airing out, or getting a headache from fumes! Whether or not the auger is as fast, or drill as many holes as my Lazer mag Xpress has no bearing on my decision to go with an electric. Thought I'd throw out my thoughts for those still making up their mind on gas or elec. Why not have both!
muc33
I carry by inhaler with me all the time and fumes bring it out every time. I don't need it any more in the fish house. I have an Ice Gator and wouldn't trade it for the world. A little extra weight, NOT an issue when drilling for my hard house which for most of the season, I drive to anyways. Get one and you will love it!

svonasek
I take it back. Anyone with an electric auger fishing around the western suburbs willing to show it off let me know. I'd like to see one in action.
