LCD or Plasma ??

I am looking to get a new tv, and it will be mostly used for gaming. I am thinking around a 42". Would a LCD or a plasma be better? I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I want a good tv that will last. What would suit me the best?

When I was shopping for a tv, Sears was in the ballpark.

Scott, If you go to the Sears Eden prairie store, ask for Jerry. he is very good and knows his stuff.

Alot of big name manufacturers quit making plasmas. I have a 42" LCD, and love it.

BTW- the same night I bought it, my youngest wrote on the screen with a ball point pen. Someones lucky it came off

This spring I got a LG LCD - 1080p & 120hz. It looks awesome. The first night we hooked it up and got the over the air HD signals, we were watching law and order and could see all the little inperfections in the actors you didn't know they had. My wife was totally amazed, now she can't wait to get another one!

Great TV, no problems. For gaming, definitely go 120hz if you can swing it. I won't say anything bad about Sony's, but you pay more for them, and don't get a better picture or reliability. Sony is on the decline right now.
