EsoxCop
I have 2002 Mercury 115hp 2 stroke and after it has ran for awhile, the motor begins to squeak loudly. It sounds like a vehicles squeaky fan belt. Any ideas of what the problem might be?

It sounds like a vehicles squeaky fan belt. Any ideas of what the problem might be? I get the same thing on my 2001,75HP. I changed the impeller, didn't help. Dealer said that I could fatten the jet for the 3 carb, as it could be starving the mains on the #3 cylinder of oil. (i never did that)Some claim it is some sort of a shaft bushing in the tail housing that dries out and squeaks.I'm not sure. In my case it doesn't seem to effect performance, so I have ignored it.
