2002 Lowrance X15

A friend of mine purchased a used boat. On it is a Lowrance X15 that it is believed was purchased when the boat was new in 2002.

Does any GPS chip (Lakemaster, Navionics) work with this unit, or would you need a specific year GPS chip or something? My thought is that it should work with any chip.

Any info is great. Thanks!

Yes I had the same year X15 till last year. The Lakemaster chip worked just fine. The only issue I had was a GPS issue and that may have been not keeping the software up to date.
