Need some black dirt

Hey guys. We're looking at putting in a garden out back and could use at least 5 yds of good black dirt to mix into the mostly gravel/clay mix we've got now. Anyone know anyone local (Buffalo/Maple Lake)that sells it. I could even come get a few loads with my pickup if necessary. I got some from Tatanka last summer but I'm hoping to keep the cost down some.

I have looking for the thing, since last summer. Been hard to find. Help we could find a farmer around the area, that would be willing to help us out.

Hey! The city of buffalo has all the black dirt you need by the civic center. It's all free if your a Buffalo resident. I bought a bunch last year then found this out and was like dang!

The Buffalo compost facility opens up Thursday, April 9. New hours: Everyday 10-6, except Sun & Wed. Free compost to Buffalo residents. It's back behind the civic center.

I would suggest getting compost. There is a place in Cold Spring that makes bulk compost for gardens - search for Mississippi Topsoils.

Monticello has a compost site too that you can back up and load yourself. Right on Hwy 39 just before the Monti Country Club.
