Dave S
I missed your post by a minute mlmb. The ditches close on April 1st. As for trails, they're basically on an individual basis and the ebst place to find trail information would be on the Trail Closure list on the MNDNR site. The list is updated weekely. mille lacs muskie bum
i meant out of the ag zone. up around mille lacs. i think they open april 1st. sorry for not clarifying
Dave S
trail openings normally won't occur until sometime in May. Conditions will be the final deciding factor of when they open. Trails too wet and dry conditions will delay trail openings. The overall date specified by the DNR is more of a target date. Ditches north of the Ag Zone remain open unless ordered closed by the local road authority i.e. City, Township or County.
CrowRiverRat83
Hey Muskie Bum, I have been riding around Mille Lacs for about 6 years now. The ditches are open year round unless closed temporarily as stated above. I have never seen them closed though, just use common sense and dont rip through soft mud in someones yard. I know the Soo Line opens April 1st and the Red Top May 15th. I'm not too sure on any other trails though.
