first year turkey hunting with a bow

If your arrow placement is good, any quality broadhead will work just fine. Some prefer an expandable for turkeys, but if you have shoot through netting on a pop up blind, I'd stick with a fixed blade head. I have used 3 blade muzzys in the past, but am considering trying the new Rage expandables.

As for shot placement, go to page 2 of the turkey hunting forum and check out the thread on Arrow Type for Turkeys. Some interesting information in there that should help. Good luck...

I'm a big fan of the larger expandable type head. Have not yet shot the Rage but plan too this spring.

As far as the netting in a blind, if it is removable, take it out. Turkeys do not care one bit. I have a couple blinds where the net is sewn in. I cut a few well placed 3" vertical strips from the net to shoot through. Works for me.

Good luck.

I don't like the removable type window nettings either...seem a bit to "loose fitting" at times. But I do make use of the sewn in ones for my major shooting window, primarily because I think a guy can get away with a little more movement. Turkeys don't care about the black holes, but it is tougher for a turkey, deer, etc. to see movement inside the blind if the window is in place.
