Early spring mo. help

Recommended Posts

heading to mo. this spring for a fishing trip. Just trying to get an idea of what things are going to be like. We are planning on coming down March 25th to the unionville area. we are planning on fishing some small (less than 20 acres) farm ponds and spending a day on thunderhead. I am just wondering if things are ice free yet and if anyone has experience fishing for bass in this area or under these COLD conditions. Any advice is appreciated. ike

No ice! The temps are going from 80 one day to 30 the next! Most of the fish have a major case of lockjaw! The smaller ponds will warm up fast if we get some decent weather, so you could do good there. If we get a few warm days before you get here...everything will be hitting on those ponds. Good luck!

I fish Mark Twain alot so they aren't doing their thing as early up there as on the southern lakes. You MIGHT hit the beginning of it if your hitting smaller lakes, IF we have some warmer weather. Good Luck!
