1900_LE
Ok you guys helped me out with the transducer mounting, so now for the wiring. Here's what I've got. The new bowmount motor is 24 volt, my transom mount is 12 volt, how do I wire this so I'll have 12 on the back and 24 volt on the front. There is a extra wire that came with the boat (pink in color) I'm assuming this is to hook up for 24v. I only have the 2 batteries. Thanks for the help! marine_man
There are several ways to accomplish this, but let's back up just a bit. What do you have for a boat, and how many pairs of wires do you have in your front battery compartment?marine_man
1900_LE
It's a G3. There is one red and one black going to the TM plug
Northlander
A G3 what? We are going to need to know more than a name brand. tel us a bit about the set up up front and in back. Heck even just say what make and that will help.
PerchJerker
24 volt connections are either made at the battery or at the plug/port for the trolling motor, by using a jumper from the pos on one battery to the neg on the other battery. Depending on the plug for your trolling motor there may be terminals for 12 volt and 24 volt, and you would use one but not the other. The best (ie. only???) way to know for sure is to use a multi-meter and test the voltage you're getting at the connections before you connect the motors. 1900_LE
Following PerchJerker's advice, I got it. 24v on the bow and 12v on the transom. Thank You
