Anyone happen to get a picture of the awesome moondog this morning? It was unlinke any moondog I’ve ever seen. Bright brilliant colors encircling the moon.

Wish I would’ve had a camera with me on my commute.

Yep, I did see it when I was snowblowing about 5:30. It was great! Thought about takin' a picture but had to get the driveway cleared so the wife could get to work!

I heard about it but did not get the chance to see it this morning. They say you should always carry your camera for those once in a lifetime moments... too bad we just can't do that.

I was plowing last night and I thought I was going goofy in the head when I saw that!! Not long after I heard about it on the radio so I knew I was still sane. Did manage to call a few people to get them out of bed and take a look.

This is the first one I have seen. Very cool!!

Yeah it was cool. Most Moodogs appear as a simple halo around the moon.

This one showed every color of the rainbow and very bright.

dtro you have a cell right? Most come with a camera built in now days. Just something to keep in mind, they do take nice pics.

Cell phones take HORRIBLE low light pictures (even the best ones). I guess I could've tried, but most likely would've been a waste of my time.

Do you know how often these happen or last time somebody has seen one?

I did a little research so I knew alittle more about them.

This is the first one I have seen.

Moondogs are pretty rare since everything has to fall into place.

Clear skies, cold temps, full moon and moisture in the air.

From what I've read, Sundogs are more common. I've only seen a Moondog 3 or 4 times.

I remember when I was younger and lived up North. The lady that lived across the road called my mom in the middle of the night and told her to go outside and look at the Halo around the moon above her house. She was convinced it was Biblical sign.
