Dave S
I stopped by the dealership yesterday to set up an appointment to replace a door seal before my warranty runs out. I had other business to tend to while the guys in the shop were looking over the truck. When I returned to the shop, got in the truck to leave, it finally had the prolonged start that I posted about a few months ago. I immediately shut the truck off and hopped out to see the shop manager looking back at the truck. My first response was to hop out and yell "PLEASE TELL ME YOU HEARD THAT." Over the past year we haven't been able to replicate the issue until yesterday, 1500 miles before the warranty runs out. A couple of the mechanics also heard it happen and suspect it's the starter. Shack
Ya, it a loose loose for the customer and dealer when this stuff happens. For one, the customer does not get his vehicle repaired and for two, the dealership sends time checking it out and does not get the repair. Glad to hear it should be addressed now Even after the warranty runs out, (is it factory) you might still be able to get the repair covered if this does not fix it. Dave S
Everything is bone stock on the truck. It's an '08 Silverado with the 5.3L and 34,500 miles. The starting issue started soon after I took delivery of the truck.
IFallsRon
I got three starters in the first three years with my truck under warranty. One was fixed out of town and the dealership reimbursed me for the repair.
