Sqeeking is the only concern for getting the composite one that I can think of and I never have any sqeeking from my metal one. I have more faith in the alum one in the cold as well. 0 PerchJerker Posted March 10, 2009 Share Posted March 10, 2009 The only thing I don't like about the aluminum ones is how high they stick up and how sharp the edges / corners are. I've seen a lot of damage to boat covers from these brackets. But if that's not an issue then the aluminum one is great, I used them for years on my own boats. 0 katoguy Posted March 10, 2009 Share Posted March 10, 2009 The composite is a lot neater, if you pull the motor off while you tube/ski. (The puck left on the boat is smaller than the entire metal plate.) The metal QRB slides together. Some people have complained that they didn't quite get the plates lined up correctly and ended up scratching their glass boats when trying to slide them together.The composite drops straight down over the puck.
