Pre rut

Just wanted to let everyone know that scrapes are starting to show up. Yesterday I went to check out a couple of my favorite spots I hunt during the rut and low and behold, SCRAPES. This morning I sat in one of those spots and had two 8 point bucks make scrapes in front of me. They then proceded to come and visit my tree. Both bucks walked within 1 foot of the base of the tree.Neither buck was of the caliber I am looking for, they may have scored around 100 to 105. Nice bucks anyways. I did though get 15 minutes of good video of the scraping and sparring. Soon the big boys will be on the move. I can't wait.

thanks for info, hope to see some sign this weekend, I'm getting excited too. Hope this dam weather cools off instead of this 80degree stuff up here in Bemidji.

i found a scrape in the middle of august this year while putting up a stand. i've heard that they will make scrapes at any time of the year although much more during the fall.

other than that early one i've been noticing scrapes regularly since early september

I am hunting in the Little Falls area of minnesota. Also an update from today. I sat in the same stand this morning and saw another 8 pointer, a different one than the two yesterday. This one was almost a shooter. Hopefully I won't regret passing on it later.
