thanks.i will begin my search there,and jump around as need be.i think i was using too large of bait and cutbait pieces on monday.i am going to downsize the bait today,and see if that helps.

i appreciate the tips.

I use the same rig that Scott Stein posted- works like a champ for channels and flats. only hassle is when you need to change out the lead. one tip would be to put slightly weaker line between the hook and the swivel, so that you have a controlled break point if you need to pull out of a snag. hooks are cheap, lead adds up.

I agree with grant. I run a similar rig. Except I use a snap lock swivel. I'll run lighter line on the leader so 95% of the time it will break the leader instead of the mainline when you get snagged. I too pretie leaders. I get the large "lindy" rig holders and I'll roll 'em up on that. They work great, hold 12 leaders. The rubber ones work best. The snap swivel makes it really easy to just snap on a new leader. Remember though, I don't have flat heads up here, I just fish for channels. Though I think a beefed up system would stand up to flatties alright.
