2009 Lake master chip

Any one heard when this is coming out?

i just bought the 2008 chip last week. the guy at gander mountain said that lakemaster only comes out with a new chip every other year. true or not, who knows.

I emailed Lakemaster...will post what I find out.

For what it's worth, I recently bought H20C from the Big C store in Rogers, and the guy that I almost bought the 08 chip from said the 09 version should be out in March. I too, thought they only came out every other year, but was told that due to the demand for HD maps, they decided to bring on 09 with a lot more lakes in HD.

Update -- Just got an email from Lakemaster Tech Support...Here's the email I received:

Hello Greg,

There will be a new 2009 product being released this year.

However, Lowrance is the product manufacturer and there has

not been any release dates set at this time. New products are

usually released in the Spring or Fall.

I just bought a GPS (H2Oc). I don't know how much longer I can wait.......I hope they come out in the next 2 months or I wil be getting the 2008.....

I would just get the 2008, verses going with out a chip. If the 2009 is that much better, you can sell the 08 for close to what you paid for it.

heard from rep that the really only change for 09 chip is the st louis river up by duluth was added..not sure if this is true or not...

Boy if thats it its a no brainer.....

I'll wait a little longer and see if I hear any more news.
