Holcomb Flowage

Recommended Posts

Birch Creek campground is one mile north of County rd M (on the west side of the lake),which runs through Holcombe. They have a public landing there. The nicest campground is Pine Point which is right off of M a mile or so west of Holcombe. Check that out first. Its awesome.

Snagger - Sry it took so long to get back to ya, but I just got back from a CO elk hunt. As far as the catfish, the old chicken liver is worthwhile, but I'd also throw out a sucker minnow. Mostly channels, but flatheads around as well. Try live bluegills for those guys. As far as muskies, a friend was gonna fish either Holcombe or Dairyland this past weekend. I'll get a report tonight during the Packers game and give ya the scoop.

The latest report on Holcombe is that the muskies are hitting pretty good. There was a Muskies Inc tourny up there this past weekend. Top fish was 49+inches, two others in the low 49 inch. Big fish was caught on a Suick, but a fishing friend missed a big one on a topwater - so no real conclusive pattern. Get out and fish and throw what you have confidence in.

I went out a couple of times musky hunting this weekend but no luck. I did see a nice 40+ inch fish jump out of the water and show off for me but it was a ways away from me. There is still a huge amount of algae in the water.
