Trailer Jack

I didn't want to hijack Deitz's post so here is my question. It seems like most newer boats are sold with pretty cheap jacks on them. I am not happy with the one on my boat and would like to replace it with a good one. Anyone have any reconmondations?

I replaced mine last Spring before I sold my boat. I got mine from Nelson Marine, in White Bear. It was alot nicer than the original one.

Bulldog makes a good one... they have a flat, rectangular shaped top

One of the big keys to keeping a tongue jack working well is to crank it so it's less than 1/2 way extended prior to pulling / pushing the boat using the tongue jack...

If it's past 1/2 it's pretty easy to do damage, especially when it's cranked all the way up.

Nothern tool has quite a few. There size is based on the weight of the trailer and boat I belivie.
