HuntBigFish
That should be very easy to find Bret. Since the boat is pretty new I'm guessing they'd be at most big retailers. Definately worth the money.
mroyten
Sounds like I'm the minority here. I have one but don't use it - don't care for it much. I enjoy the mobility without it. Granted the hydraulic on it is busted, so it is always in the lowest position (which isn't completely uncomfortable).I only pull it out when it gets wavy, then it comes in handy so I don't land in the drink. RuKiddingMe
Bret it shouldn't be to hard for you, my buddy has an 00' Alumacraft and an 05' Warrior, he can use his butt seat in both boats no problem, as both have the Springfield systems. It's the darn 238s that are the problem.RU
S.D. Ice Angular
Well this is what I found; Now that I seen it all again I remember what I did. I do remember it taking several weeks to find the items, and yes, mine is the 238 series. I remember that all the places I stopped (sporting goods stores and boat shops) that very few people knew what I was talking about. They all had to look in their books/catalogs and basically try and match my stock poles up to their pictures. Not a fun experience, I don’t know whether to be upset that Sylvan uses such an unpopular base for their seats or with the stores and shops for not knowing their stuff?? I ended up stumbling across these items kinda by mistake just killing time. I found the but seat sat Gander in Fargo The seat mounts came from Fleet Farm in Fargo. I found one pole at Scheels in Fargo. One pole at Crystal Pierz in Rogers. One pole at Miller Marine in St. Cloud. Your link to Atwood is the right stuff, in one sense it is kinda nice because you can piece all the items together just the way you want it. I know for me it ended up not being cheap but I really wanted one so I just kept looking. This is what I have now………………………………………………………………. Sorry, the pics are not the best, You may notice on the two long poles I shove the plastic clip mechanism on the lower portion up in the pole itself so I don’t have to mess with it when removing it from the base. cjac
As a muskie/bass angler who's had two back operations in the last 2 years, and I'll say the butt seat was the best investment I've made, better than any custom rod or reel or lure(s). It's made days last a lot longer and resulted in more fish, less fatigue, and I'm more ready for that late day follow. Much more comfortable in calm and choppy waters. Bret: Check the Big "C" retail outlet, I got mine there for a Lund base at about $130 for the pedestal and the "tourney" model seat. Color even matched up just right. Definitely the way to go. pauljpollock
I use mine as a backrest in the highest position. It comes in handy to take the load off the wickets from time to time. The problem is that folks who are new to muskie fishing have a tendency to want to sit on it after fifteen minutes of back breaking casting! I'll give them a friendly reminder that we don't fish muskies sitting down. Paul.
