0 Sandmannd
Not a pro on them, maybe your thermocouple is going out on ya?
0 Dave
The thermcouple allows the gas to flow when the burner is operating. Doesn't sound like a thermocouple problem since the heater is operating. Sounds like the gas orfice/air mixture area may be dirty or needs adjustment. 0 Northlander
Hey guys. So I have a tank mount that when I put on a tank and turn on does nothing. I hear nothing and it wont light. Plugged thermocoupler ya think?
0 Lotwfisher
I had trouble with mine a couple times. I usually just take it apart and clean out all the ports and work the thermocoupler and make sure everything de-ices. Just pull apart any parts that unscrew(keep in mind what goes where) and blow some air through it. That has fixed my problems this year and last year. My first thought was thermocoupler also. Just seemed to be dirt and junk restricting airflow and proper operating.
0 pikechaser
If the unit stays lit once you let off that button you hold in when you lite it, its not the thermocouple. the guys are right. more than likely a gas/air mixture issue. check orifice, and also the tube the gas & air flows thru into the burner head. If you get some sort of clog/restriction on there it will cause problems. one other thing, that would be much less likely would be a gas pressure issue, at that point probly cheaper to buy a new heater
0 Dave
Steve, There is gas in the tank, right Take the heater off and see if gas comes out of the tank. Check the opening before you mount the heater back on the tank and try it again.
