Fish house seat 'MOD'

This is a picture of the end of pipe that holds my seat on. Note that a bolt threads into the end. I would like to shorten up this pipe by cutting part of it off. But I cannot get the part that holds the bolt out... Anybody know how to do this, or know where these can be purchased?

OK, a couple more ?

How much of the post do you want to cut off?

Is the piece wedged in or does it have a spot weld holding it in place?

If its not spot welded you could try pushing it down to see if it moves. If it does, you can cut your post and then push the piece out after. Then simply push back into post to depth needed.

They are not welded. It's a friction fit. Last year mine came out several times due to certain people plopping down on my seat like it was their favorite easy chair. When I had them out I bent the tabs straight again and then pounded them back down with a ball pine hammer. No problems since.
