Auger Problems

My SM auger has been giving me nightmares. One day it cuts ice like a champ and then the next day I'm completely [PoorWordUsage] from cutting one hole. In order to get it to run good I have to constantly mess with the choke to find the happy spot (which is not in the run position after it's warm and I'm cutting a hole).

Trying think of what else I can do. I have already replaced the spark plug and made sure I have fresh gas in it.

I did notice that the cap has a tear in the rubber seal when I look at the bottom. Not sure what this would cause.

I'm thinking that it needs a carb adjustment (cost ?) or should I try running seafoam thru it first?

Any thoughts?

Its starving for gas.

In this order.

Check the fuel line for air leaks.

Screen in tank could be plugged.

Tighten mounting nuts on the carb.

Carb cleaning and new diaphragms.

I was having problems with my Lazer Mag and took it to Strike Master at Big Lake last Monday.They had it fixed in 25 minutes,and charged me $20.00.Great sevice,and worth the drive.

Yea, surface is correct on what to try. If you can't get it I would go to Big Lake and talk to them or D-rock in New Brighten is very good as well. Since you live in Mankaot however, I would call Strike Master or go on their HSOforum and see if there is a service shop closer to you.

I just stopped in without an appointment.They have the parts,and service to go with it.I don't think you will get that kind of service anywhere besides Big Lake.

If you can get this taken care of for $20 and live close by that is an easy decision. When you said it runs good one day then the next it doesn't, I was assuming you were using a partial choke in both cases. If it runs good without the choke but acts up later on then make sure the gas tank is vented.

I had the same problem just needed to adjust my idle speed

At times the gas cap vent will ratle closed again. Make sure the vent on the cap is staying open. If not get a new cap.

I also had a problem with my LM8 cutting, took it to Strikemaster in Big Lake and was in and out in 15mins. Awesome customer service!
