Well it has been about 8 years since I was down there and did some fishing. We stayed in Orlando for Spring break.

We looked in the phone book and found some guides. They were booked and one referred us to a captain gus. I think he was near the Sebastian area. Try a google search. We fished on the edge of the ocean and caught a bunch of jacks. Good times!!

Also, if you get the chance go on an air boat ride to look at the gators. WOW, was that spectacular!! If you do that, try to book their earliest trip for the day. Then the gators aren't too boat shy yet. We saw hundred's of them, some as close as 10'.

My advice is to go to the tourism store and get the info you want. They have 100's of brochures and things to do in the area. That was down on the main strip, not near Disney.

Good luck!

It's an easy drive over to Cocoa Beach/ Port Canaveral. Bring change and small bills for the tolls. There are a couple of party boat operators there. I've been on that type of trip a couple of times. 20-30 people, 4-5 hours, 15 miles out, bottom fishing over wrecks, etc. 100' deep, snappers, triggerfish, small sharks. I did a night trip last time down there. That trip was a lot of boat riding, not much fishing time. Orlando Princess is one of the names. There are a few charter boats out of that same harbor that are the deep sea kind of rigs.

There are also guides w/ small boats going into the coastal waterways around that same area. 2 people kind of trips. Search Mosquito Lagoon guides. Good Luck.

I am also heading down to FLA in March and would like to do some fishing. I'll be in the Sanibel Island area.. I'm not looking for a private guide, since they are running around 500.00 for 4 hours. (They charge per boat.) I will be the only one fishing, so that seems a little steep for me. Anyone know if they have launches similar to Mille Lacs where they throw 20-30 random people on a boat and charge 30-50 bucks each?
