Glad to see you today Marv, lots of perch for sure. I may be back out there tomarrow but thinking of going farther out past the reef in the main lake in the bowl. Or to wherever the road ends grin We stayed out till 7ish, nothing much going after 5:30 though couple lookers was all.

I was out there too. Spent a little time in the city by Buffalo Run, and a little time on the reef and over towards Stoney, but most of my time in the main lake basin. If you saw those one or two isolated trucks out in the middle, that was me. Literally THOUSANDS of perch out there!! Had the camera down most of the time, and I've never seen anything like it. I saw perch everywhere I went, but nothing like that spot. A lot more lookers and sniffers than biters, but the sheer number of fish out there is truly amazing.

I had to leave by about 3:00, but the best bite was around 1:30. The highlight of the day was definitely getting a 6 lb. musky through the hole on 2 lb. line eek What a hoot! Admired him for a few seconds, kicked myself for not having a camera, and down back he went.

I looked for epkirkman and hondarider by Cottonwood. Thought you guys had said you were going to be in a white v front wheelhouse, but I didn't see anything fitting that description around Cottonwood. Figured you decided to relocate. All in all, about as much fun as a guy can have in a short day on the ice. Good luck out there...

We picked up this walleye at around 7am off a shiner chub. Took some pics and put him back down the hole. The walleye bite has been off and on.

I picked up two nice Northerns the day before. The perch bite has slowed down but it sure has been fun out there. It was great to meet you guys. I will be fishing all week starting Tuesday. My shack is still sitting between Cottonwood and Stoney.

It was good to meet you guys yesterday, I am glad you got some perch.

Nice to have met you Chad!!! Its great meeting new people that share the same interests as we do...

Ed it's great to finally meet you too.

We ended up going out again today and what a weekend on the ice. It was great meeting up with Chad and Shawn today (Sunday). Shawn my daughter reminded me that we were talking there for an hour... LOL Did not hurt her a bit.

Wish we could have caught more fish but it sure was nice to be able to catch some fish. Makes me feel better about getting out there. And I had some great fater - daughter time on Sunday and some great time spent with my daughters boyfriend on Saturday... Over all it was a great weekend...

No kidding? Hmmm...I must've been asleep. I looked in that area Saturday and didn't see a white v front. A couple that were olive green, and then a bunch of smaller perms...oh well. Next time. Looks like a sweet rig...good luck out there this week, and keep us updated. Your fishing report is much better than the one we get emailed to us weekly from the DNR grin

I usually drive out with my ATV but this weekend I drove out with the pickup. That was nice since I didnt have to unload everything out of the pickup. I did see a few atvs driving around and yes you can get around just as long as you stay out of the deep drifts. Enjoy!!!

Yep...a 4 wheeler would be OK in most places, but not pulling a big permanent like a saw a young man trying to do by the Marble Beach access Saturday. Needless to say, he didn't get very far crazy

Like Hondarider, I love having my truck and all my gear right close by.

Fish weren't tough to catch but the keeper sized were hard to come by. I stayed out till 8 Sunday night marked alot of fish, had a few lookers but no hits after dark. A camera is a big help for those little light biters. I'll be out again bright and early Sat morn after them again. Where I'll be is anyones guess. Not far off the beaten path though unless Chris' towing service is availible laugh

The number of fish was definitely high and ended up with more than the average person according to the "survey guy" and also had a 5.2lb pike which was my first keepable fish of the day.

Towing service is available anywhere anytime as long as Im nearby and not sitting on a pile of hungry fish. If thats the cause your better off setting up where you are and I'll get there when I get time the fish always come first.

Late this week sounds like a great day to get outside to do some serious hole hopping chasing hungry fish during a steady beautiful late January heat wave.
