kdawg
I just scrolled back and read the thread on "Hinckley or Alexandria?". I think I'm heading up early sat. morning to Hinckley. Where can a guy park the trailer and leave it for a day ride? I was just looking over the dnr trail map of the area. Any specific trails to hit or avoid? Thanks. Uncle Bill
There is a parking lot on the north side of County Rd. 18 just west of Hinkley. Or you could park and unload at the Firehouse municipal bar, one block west of Hinkley (exit 183). I don't see any harm in parking there, but mabey you want to call them first 320-384-6213. If you are not studded you can ride any trail. Studded cannot run the Williard Munger trail north out of Hinkley.
kdawg
Thanks Uncle Bill. Just picked up a sled last weekend. I've put 150 miles on it so far but am excited to hit the 1000 mile mark yet this year. I've got a late start so I've got some making-up to do. dustin85
There is a parking lot along the Willard Munger Trail (not sure if this is the same one Uncle Bill is talking about-I don't remember the road). From the South, exit into Hinckley, head West across town. Take a right (North) at a T in the road, go a few blocks, (just past grocery store) then turn Left. If you have a state park sticker, drive East to St Croix state park. Plenty of parking available there, with many miles of trails.Dustin

kdawg
I backed-out due to the sub zero temps over the weekend. I do appreciate the info though and will put it to good use in the near future.

kdawg
Anytime a bar owner lets me park at their establishment, I ALWAYS make it a point to give them some business, whether it be luch or dinner. I feel it's the least I can do.
