MinnesotaMuskie
I have a 2004 Polaris 400. I use it plow snow in winter. Last night the Reverse Override button stopped working..i.e. the red button on the left grip. The machine will not override/run 4 x 4 in reverse???Any suggestions? piker007
Does the 4X4 work in forward? Does the speedo work? The wiring on these are all connected to the speedo. There should be 2 wires coming from the front differential check to see if they have power going to them when the button is pushed. Otherwise check to make sure all the wires going into the button pod are connected.
norm
Does it go full speed in reverse when your holding the override button? When you are shifted into reverse does the "R" light up in the gauge cluster? If you're not getting full power in reverse with the button held in I would guess you need a new overrride switch which will come as a complete assembly with kill switch and headlight switch. If you have full power in reverse but no 4x4, I would guess you need a new gear indicator switch which is mounted on the transmission. thenewguy
If it is just the switch, you could bypass it. I did this on mine because I plow, and the override button is a pain to use.
wolf
Second that the overide bypass is alot nicer unless youve got used to it over the years i still find myself occasionally reaching for it!
