outdoor ran
Redneck if your looking for a good bass lake heading home take a look at Pokegama, Nancy and Matthews. I like these 3 lakes for largemouth. Pokegama doesn't have the numbers but there are some really nice ones. Nancy is hit and miss but can be really good at times. Matthews is full of small to medium size bass, but its a small lake and it will be warmer then the others. I would think that would be your best bet for some action. Hope this helps, let me know how you do. If I can't get out on the pond I might head out to one of these lakes to try for some bucketmouths. NSP Dave
Johnson Lake is a nifty little bass lake w/ a pretty good boat launch. There are two holes...I've done real well w/ a red shad power worm. Also, docks have always held fish.nsp dave
outdoor ran
I usually fish it a couple weeks after the opener and there are some weeds up already. I don't know what your going to have this weekend with the water being so cold. I like to use red shad plastic worms on the breaks and of course if its sunny you might find some shallow (spinnner baits). Theres a point kitty corner of the lauch thats good. But I find most of my bass at the north end and east side of the lake around Shell creek. Its not a big lake and you can eliminate water quickly. I don't know the lake really well. I would like to spend more time on it also. oh yea, there are some really nice northerns in there to. Good luck.
