Arrrh, don’t loose your night vision

So the other day I was watching some old episodes of Mythbusters and they had an episode on why Pirates had eye patches.

Turns out the pirates used eye patches so they would not loose their night vision when going above and below deck.

So yesterday when I was in the dark house and needed to go outside to use the facilities I decided to give it a try.

I closed one eye and placed my hand over the closed eye to form a light proof seal. I went out did my business and got back in to the darkhouse.

I tried each eye one at a time and it was amazing the difference between the two.

It was almost like I was blind using the eye that was not covered.

Pretty cool.
