kdawg
Hey Box, I see you are in the white bear area. Was just wondering if you could give me a little insight as far as riding in our area. I'm hopin' to have a sled beneath me by next weekend at the latest but probably sooner. I see the trail runs along 61, up to forest lake and east/west from that general area. Any areas that you like to frequent, or do you do most of your sledding up north? thanks.
BoxMN
Hey kdawg,I am actually new sledder, so haven't really ridden in the area, sleds are up north. But I did just get an old 88 indy 400 running tonight (actually got it STOPPING by fixing the brake, ha!, so now it can get some miles on it.).I see a lot of guys stopping for gas at Bald Eagle Bait station on 61, and they seem to head north, of course, on the trail. I might bring the sleds home one of these weekends. It looks like you are having fun with the 600! I bet she goes, hehe, as my 500 sure does. Got my wife out this weekend up in Fifty Lakes/Emily/Crosslake area and she had fun on the yamaha, and I got to stretch the legs of the xc, good time! Have fun with the sled, and I will ping you if I get the sleds home, to get trail report or maybe meet up for a ride.
kdawg
I kind of figured that you probably did more of your sledding up north. I did get out on Sunday, which was the first time on the new sled and yes, WOW, does she ever go! I didn't ride half as hard as I did 12 years ago, but managed to put 75 miles on in a half day ride. Had to do a reeeeaaal long soak in the tub after that one and I still feel it today. I have kinda gotten a bit of the lay of the land as well, there are some pretty decent trails out there. And, yes, give me a hollar anytime for trail info (In a very short time I should have done a LOT of exploring) or if you want to hit the trails.
