Cooter
You guys think the big #7 and 8/0 trebles are needed? Also, opinions on the Mustad #3551s that are on most. Hook options are fairly limited once you get above 5/0. Finally, are you hooking more fish with the front or rear treble?Oops, one more, are you tipping them with twister tails? Thanks much, later. 50inchpig
I think 7/0s are sufficient and haven't lost any fish with them compared to the 8/0s, nothing wrong with the 3551s. Not sure what size clevis I use, if that's what you're referring to with the #7, but I know I've got good results with different sizes at times.I don't think there's a great answer with front or rear treble, alot of factors there that could change things, but I wouldn't go without either. I don't use trailers, probably don't need them with all the movement the blades create.
Cooter
Thanks much, the #7 reference was to hook size, I should have posted 7/0 and 8/0 instead.
Shawn Kellett
I've been using a 8/0 single hook for the rear on many of my D10's. That way you don't have to perform major surgery when they take it deep.
