Viper Winches?

Anyone own one? How are they? As good as a warn? I may buy a backup for plowing, and the price is right on these winches, but do you get what you pay for?

You get what you pay for. You always say you are hard on things.... don't waste your money or you will be shipping it off for repairs. There office may be in Rogers but that doesn't mean they service what they sell.

I just thought if it would lift a plow up and down it may be worth it since I do alot of plowing. My Warn still works, butI think it may be getting weak, as it has alot of "use" on it.

The price is hard to beat. Maybe try a Polaris winch....

I would stick with Warn, as it has worked well for you. Have you taken it apart and greased it yet? I can't remember if you said that in the past or not.

No, I have never done a thing to it, other than use it. Polaris winch eh..... I don't know if I want to try to take something apart that I'll never get it back together.

If it's not broke don't fix it.

I though about buying a viper winch for my grizzly a couple months ago but I found a awesome deal on a Yamaha Labeled Warn R/T 2500lb and decided to stick with Warn. I have owned 2 Warn winches and never have had a problem with them. In my opinion you definitely get what you pay for. I have heard good and bad about the viper winches but mostly bad. While I was researching these winches I checked out videos on youtube and the cheap winches just didn't sound right or have the power they should.

I wouldn't be scared of a viper winch, alot of guys on the ranger forum use them and any issues that have come up moto alliance has taken care of, great customer service. Just get the viper elite, its sealed and comes with a synthetic rope. Don't confuse venom with viper winches two separate companies both based in MN. That being said I don't own one, but my next winch will be a viper elite, my warn 3000 isn't too impressive.
