You don't need Map Create but the LEI card reader is pretty much a must in order to read the Lakemaster Card. There have been rare occasions where a regular SD reader will read the card but for the most part you need a LEI Card Reader. They can be purchased separately from LEI for around $30.

You will also need a Lowrance emulator/demo which is free to download from the Lowrance HSOforum. I use the LCX 26 HD Demo it's seems to be a bit more stable then some of the other Demo's.

Sounds like a lot work for only being able to view your Chip on the PC and nothing else.

It is kind of cool to be able to view the chip on a bigger screen then an I-Finder or small Sonar/Gps unit.

Einy-Menie-miney??

Pier that LCX 26 is it a sonar on screen test it out type demo?

I got the CD cause I wanted full screen view,I mark spots with GPS Coords on screen then print and take map with, instead of my tiny screen in boat. That at times I leave nose smudges on the screen.I also transfer from GPS to LM. The 3 downloads is restrictive where the chip seems unlimited, and with the few upgrades each year and most if not all are lakes I dont fish,Its too much investment to keep gettin CDs

I should mention I screw up this computer often enough 3 downloads dont last long!

I installed LM on a removable drive But it doesn't get reconized and I'm on my last usage of LM CD and thinkin of a new computer?????
