Scott K
Quote:Vikings DTs Kevin and Pat Williams are not expected to face suspension during the 2010 season after a Minnesota judge extended them a temporary injunction Friday. The injunction prevents the Williamses from being banned four games, "until their appeal is resolved." In order for the appeal to be resolved, the case would have to pass through both the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court -- a process sure to last into 2011. Saints DE Will Smith, who ranked fifth in the NFL in sacks last year, is also in the clear.

Scott K
Quote: Vikings re-signed restricted free agent DE Ray Edwards to a one-year, $2.521 million contract.Edwards doesn't appear to be serious about holding out, as he hinted he might be last month. Still just 25 years old, the left defensive end broke out for 51 tackles and 8.5 sacks last season. The Vikings, however, consider Edwards just slightly better than a replaceable talent. With Jared Allen and the Williams Wall commanding constant double teams, Edwards got much of his 2009 production in single-blocked and even unblocked situations. FISHINGURU
So I hear the Eagles would be willing to trade Kolb for a 2nd rounder, that might be something to think about. I wish we still had our 3rd, maybe we can trade out of our 1st round spot and add some picks, get a QB and still get some good dude on the O-line. klecker
Vikings hire an OC yet???? What you Queens’s fans think of Mike Heimerdinger? Likes to run and throw deep (vertical). Vikings are kind of set up for that if they can retain Rice, and get the o-line fixed. Wouldn’t be that complex of an offence like the west coast. Web and T junk have good arms. If a lock out looms Young could walk right in.
Born2Fish
Already hired an OC. Bill Musgrave of the Falcons came over.
klecker
That’s right totally forgot about that.
FISHINGURU
It will be interesting to see what Musgrave can do to the offense, it surely can't get any worse then it was last season, it was pretty disgusting.
soldoncass
Gotta have playmakers on offense...Harvin and Rice...not just Peterson, or any qb will have a tough time. It ALL STARTS UP FRONT, so an upgrade in OL is critical for any success. The coaches may be able to improve the mountians we already have....or they will focus on some WARRIERS up front in the draft/free-agents. It will be interesting for sure. soldoncass
For the #12 pick the VIKES pick.......the best player available for safety, olb ,or de.....an impact guy like Polamalu, Mathews, Joey Browner, etc. Then in round 2 get WR Hankerson if possible(look at his videos, wow), even though we have enough numbers there, he makes spectacular catches. Time to make some of the young guys, that have been around the team a couple years earn their roster spot. We have OL, DL, CB, FB players on that list. That's why I think we have to strengthen Safety, DE, OLB mostly in later rounds, while still look for the "diamonds in the rough" anywhere. It is hard to imagine the difficulty in drafting guys for your team, with all other teams looking for the same things.
soldoncass
I see Robison just signed for 3 years....one less spot to draft high.
FISHINGURU
Yep, good signing. Now we can let Gay Edwards go.
zepman
I'd still take Quinn if he were there at 12.I like Robison alot...glad he'll be around.

FISHINGURU
All I want in this off season is Asomugha!! Same guy I've wanted us to get the past couple seasons. We'd finally have a true shutdown #1 corner on this team, I'm thinkin Leslie would like that.
creepworm
Asomugha in free agency. Offensive line first round. QB second round. WR third round and we are on our way to a competitive team.
creepworm
Asomugha in free agency. Offensive line first round. QB second round. WR third round (providing we trade down and obtain a 3rd round pick)and we are on our way to a competitive team.
FISHINGURU
Sign Asomugha in FA. Trade down in the first to get some picks back. Get Palmer in a trade, draft O-line end of 1st, Dalton in the 2nd. Use remaining picks to fill holes and add depth.
FISHINGURU
How bout Cheddar Bob Burress? Where do you think he'll land?I'd give him a shot for cheap, no pun intended!
soldoncass
I have a "hunch" that the Vikes won't make many moves in FA this year. Maybe resign Ramsey for a QB mentor type, and work the tail off these young QBs. Webb, Bomar, 1 drafted, and 1 or more as undrafted FA QBs. That may not be the most popular move, but it would help eliminate the "boom or bust" cycle of so many first round QBs.
soldoncass
I'm thinking more and more we will target a pass-catching TE. If Frazier wants to feature Peterson, we need another TE for the power game. Put Kliensasser in as FB, draft our version of Refrigerator Perry for goal lines. Much more effective with 2 TEs who can catch the ball.
FISHINGURU
Yeah a bomb TE would be nice, Shanks is good but he ain't no Gates. I'd agree 2 TE's would be stellar, kind of like what they are doing in NE.Kleiny is probably better then Tahi at FB also, Kleiny can also catch and take it up the field. Maybe we should sign Fat Pat for cheap and move him to goaline FB lol, he's a big boy that can move.
soldoncass
Take a look at video highlights of Blaine Sumner from the Colorado School of Mines. Does he look good....or is it just because of his competition?
soldoncass
I wondered about the guys we drafted last year. We still have them all, except LB Triplett, and TE Schuler. Schuler made the team, but was then let go to sign BASKET(ouch). He is now on the Dolphins team, and we need a TE. Triplett was released, but is now on the Colts team, and we need an OLB. Triplett couldn't have filled that position for us, so 6 out of 7 draftees isn't too bad I guess. New England has so many draft picks they can't use them all, without releasing some good players. I would keep my eye on their waivers.
