porting a track?

Tyler,

What type of sled do you have?

One of the big reasons people port them is to ligthen the rotating mass of the track which in turn will give you more power.

Mtn. riding is all about weight and every little bit counts, you will probably get faster dumping of the snow from the suspension area too by doing this as for cooling your shocks?...... maybe.

You will shorten the life of your track though, if you plan on just trail riding and such around here, I probably wouldn't recommend doing it, running for a prolong period across the lake might have some undesireable results on a ported track.
