hoggsback
We caught several weird sunfish today in Minnetonka. They had a bump on the side of the tail, where the meat is in the tail. The spine was also curved or bumped out on the top before the tail. Made it hard to fillet. Anyone seen this before?

hoggsback
I wish I had taken some. We were elbow deep in cleaning our catch and I didn't take the time. If I catch more, I will post them.
Selmer
I've seen this before also, we've just attributed it to a close escape from a heron or snapping turtle.Selmer
