Any pics of home made spring bobbers?

That is a great idea im90 but what about icing up seems if you are using a bead that hole on the end is mighty small. 7 Bucks to make 2 dozen I wish I could find a bic for 29 cents.

I fish in a shack most of the time so icing isn't a prob. for me. The bead is so I can see it better without squinting and glo for low light times. If I'm out hole hoping I have a rod I use for that. Braided line is bad for iceing up thats why I use Pline, Gamma, or Vanish.

I have people save their dead lighters for me. I would never buy a lighter just for the spring. If it's going in trash I might as well make use of the spring.

I also own St Croix rods w/spring bobber and agree they could be the best on the market but anytime a man or woman can create or personalize a piece of their own equipment and utilize it without hassle, stand back and say to themselves I made that!!! I think that's pretty cool.

Piano wire or ball point pen springs were the first spring bobbers used.

I like the St. Croix springs and Ralph Wiggum on here had a writeup on how to install them. Also do like the Thorne Brothers springs.

I think that your spring bobbers are really cool. Was wondering if you could give me a tip or two on assembling my own. I have used bic springs to make my own bobbers that work well but I can't STAND the ice build up... always looking for better ways

I cringed but had a lot of Cabellas points and bought a Legend. I will confirm that it does not ice. have been out in < 10 def F many times with no problem with the eye icing, now the lines and ice holes are another story.
