I hooked up with Perch Pounder, or should say he tagged along with me. Started the day off exploring out of the way new places we thought should hold good weeds hence hold fish. Plan A didn't go as planned.

Target is Anglers Bay on Spirit, we were looking for new spots to try but weeds have vanished. Spent 2-3 hours running around on the sled punching holes and checking with the camera.

Noonish we decided just to go back where the crowds been and hope to salvage the day.

Found a hole in the weeds in the community spot and set up to fish, must have been close to 1 before I even started to get ready to fish since I lost a brace from the shack and had to back track the morning scouting run to find it. Of course it was at the end of the trail. PP already had a nice gill on the ice when I made it back and tossed a couple dinks back down.

Bite wasn't fantastic but it was steady, we ended the day just before dark with 20 between us in the bucket and that many more put back down the hole.

Big Thanks to EPK for use of the sled, thanks man I owe ya.

While today was a little slow by normal standards it turned out to be a pretty decent day. A big thanks to EPK for the use of the sled and for pointing us in the right direction this afternoon. Hopefully we can find something a little better tomorrow and it actually stays consisent. I'll be flying solo tomorrow Esox so I'll see you in the morning.

Its going to be winy 2maro but sounds like a decent day upper 30's. Esox its dropping like you said you wanted to!! Prolly not enough though.

Do you have a time when you are going to be there I dont want to distract you after you start fishing. Get the noise out of the way right away.

Yes those are yesterdays. Muskie closed Dec 1, walleye closes in Feb northern open year round. Not 100% sure yet but maybe back up on Anglers, seems to be the most consistent bite we can find. We'll see where the wife wants to go. No pics from today, I got a whooping from my partner, I got 1 keeper he got the rest. Maybe you can guide me LOL. Call me if you come down again Sat.

Thanks those are anywhere from 8 - 9 3/4". You didn't miss out on too much. By the time I found anything decent it was too late to let you know. We hit the best spot I found yesterday today and it was a totally different situation we only had about 30 between four of us thanks in most part the weather pattern and foot traffic I am guessing. I heard of some nice perch being caught in Miller's today so atleast we'll have a fall back spot tomorrow if the gills don't cooperate in the morning.
