were to go ?

just looking for any suggestions on were to go south of the citys. i usually go to ortonville area but due to some fammliy issues never got out yet this year and My dogs been giving me some pritty nasty looks ever weekend. My plan is to just head south from lakeville with my atlas and try and find somepaces starting around fairbault. I've never been south before really besides driving to cabelas so anything would be helpful. thxs

The DNR map showing pheasant populations showed that was a weak area. West of 169 the map shows more birds. Of course i went down there 3 weeks ago and 5 guys didn't see a single rooster in the Nicollet Swan Lake area. You might want to go west instead of south.

The weather man says we may get some heavy snow - take a shovel and a tow cable.

Roads will be a mess for awhile.

You will see birds in the fields now. I would not worry about the DNR map ... get out there and scout and walk heavy cover.

When we were out for a pheasant derby last weekend they were really sticking to creek bottoms and on the edges of groves. So just be prepared for some hard walking
