Yellowhead
When I got home last even I check the back yard and to my surprise there was a small hawk having dinner in my back yard. The light was bad and I couldn't ID it. It was small, a little larger then a mourning dove. I went out this morning to see what was left. Looks like I'm short one junco.I have mixed feeling about this, I hope the hawk hangs around but developes a taste for squirrel. If I get any pics I will post
MN Shutterbug
I'll just bet it was a Sharp-shinned Hawk. They're only about 1 1/2" larger than a robin, and awesome killers.
Birdsong
I had a sharp-shinned at my cafeteria yesterday also. I did get some funny shots, but haven't had time to post them. Maybe this afternoon. I hate when they get one of the 'good' birds. Somehow I don't seem to mourn the loss of a sparrow or house finch quite as much.
