PS3 uploading

How do you upload a movie onto the hard drive of the ps3? Can you put a dvd in the player and download it to the hard drive then convert it into hd? I thought you can do that, but I cant figure out how!

It seems that you have to convert it to a ps3 file, like the one's that can be played on a PSP.

Another thing: you can download free ps3 themes by googling free ps3 themes. Those are also in a ps3 format.

Ok do I down load this convertert to the Ps3, then convert it right on the ps3 right?
