Venison stew

Anyone have a good venison stew recipe they care to share? I need to make it at deer camp this weekend so I will not have the luxury of electricity to cook in a crock pot. I will have a gas stove or the top of the wood stove to cook on.

Any good ideas or is stew just stew so I should just use a packet of seasoning, meat, potatoes, carrots, and onion and be done with it?

I use the 2 of the mccormicks packets and instead of mixing water to it, I mix tomato juice to give it a tomato base. 4 lbs of meat, carrots, celery, red potatos, a couple cans of corn and throw the onion in the last few hours so it doesn't get too mushy.
