Some times the resort owners are looking to get a new one or more each year and sell off the old ones. They have to keep their equipment as reliable as possible and going new each year is the best way for many of them. Might be able to find a deal that way. Last year Paul Waldowski from Appledoorn's got rid of 5 Jiffy augers that he had been using for a while. Really awesome prices too. Just keep an eye open. fishuhalik Posted October 6, 2008 Share Posted October 6, 2008 I use a hand auger. Mainly cuz i'm too cheap to get a gas auger, but it's also a great workout. I'm usually in the best shape of the year after the ice season's done, drilling a couple dozen holes through 2' of ice'll do that to ya!
