sparkydm
I'm planning to build a small skid house. I'm thinking 4x8 or 6x6. Any opinions on which size works best?
Walleye Guy
4' x 8' makes the construction easier because plywood comes in 4' x 8' sheets. 6' x 6' is 36 square feet and 4' x 8' is 32 square feet so the 6' x 6' actually provides more interior room. fishinmajishin
All depends on what you're skidding it with! 6x6 will be heavier. Also more expensive per sf cause of waste material. If you go 6x6 might as well go 6x8. 4x8 can get a bit tight for 2 by todays standards(too much gear!). But, you can tip it up between the wheel wells of a truck to transport it. Just be sure to put the door in the middle of one side, or a door at each end.
sparkydm
Early in the season I'll be pulling it with a 4 wheeler. I have a car trailer to get it to the lake. I'm hoping to keep this thing as light as possible but i know how weight tends to add up so any suggestions from people who have gone this route would be welcomed.
