eric29
My dogs eye has mucusy stuff running out of it all the time. Its been going on for about 3 days now and lately it seems to to be red and a lil bit puffy. She does have allergies but everything ive seen or heard about allergies, mentions nothing about symtoms with eyes. Anyone have any help with this one? SDbowhunter
Your dog may have conjunctivitis (pink eye). It is pretty common with hunting dogs as they tear through cattails or the woods and get an infection in the eye. Take her to the vet and they'll probably put her on antibiotics. JConrad
Might not be a bad idea to wash your dogs eyes out with saline solution... The kind that people use with contact lenses... this time of the year there are lots of seeds in the grasses and dogs have a tendancy to get them into their eyes.. We were running dogs the other day and it was amazing to see how much junk washed out of their eyes when we used the saline solution. Just gently squirt under the eye lids, not directly onto the eye ball.. Really works great and just may be the answer.
