FishyScent
Other then air what else can I do to keep my bait fresh over a week or so. I change out the water out on the lake some times. Can I change it at home like I do my fish tank? What about food? I seems silly to me to have to spend money every 3 of 4 days on bait when maybe I could do a better job keeping the bait I have fresh.Any thoughts? Thanks
hip_hop_fisherman
The only minnows I ever have a problem dying on me is pike and shiners. All I do with my crappie/fathead minnows is keep the water changed and leave them out in the garage so the water stays cool. My baits been averaging two weeks.[This message has been edited by hip_hop_fisherman (edited 01-04-2004).]
irvingdog
I still have bait left over from open water season. Change some of the water often, keep it cold (fish metabolize less at cooler temperatures) and you should get plenty of time out of the bait. BTW, I use an extra refrigerator for my bait.
