beaching a fiberglass boat

looking at getting a new boat either later this year or sometime early next year. Currently have an aluminum boat, but really thinking about switching to glass.

can you beach a fiberglass boat into sandy bottoms? I have to beach my boat quite often throughout the summer, overtime will beaching it take the finish off?

I have a glass boat and beach it all the time on sand... no problems at all.. .If you want get a beach protector strip on the bottom of your boat...

If you put a keel guard on, you have nothing to worry about. They are relatively simple to install and work very well.

you can put a keel guard if you want, but you really dont have to do it.

agreed , you don't have to have one, but i do feel better having one on , just in case there is something under/in the sand.

my grandpa has a 1984 ranger and we beach it all the time in different types of shores also, not just %100 sand, no keel gaurd and no issues in 24 years of ownership
